This blog follows one goat's efforts to support the rural poor and to show Canadians that they can make a real difference in creating sustainability for vulnerable families overseas.
To all the Goats I've Loved Before (and Chickens, and Piglets...)
It’s February! Otherwise known as the “love” month! Now whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s Day or not, all those hearts and cupids have got me thinking about love and what it means to me. Here’s a list of 3 things that I just LOVE….
1. Alfalfa! Mmmmm...there’s nothing like a big bale of yummy alfalfa to start your day off right. Maybe it’s a goat thing.
2. The buzz that CHF puts around thinking and planning environmentally! Protecting the natural resources in any given project is critical to the planning and implementing of community and household project activities. Take for example Bee-Keeping in Zimbabwe – community members are creating and being trained on Top Bar Hives…yes, these hives are easy and economical to build but they also use less wood then a traditional movable-frame hive. It’s a win win – because Honey, as sweet as you are, you should not come at the cost of deforesting! I love that CHF, and its project communities, are doing their part to protect our many times of natural resources.
3. Our donors! The love YOU show for others when you give a live-saving gift through Gifts That Matter makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Now my insides match my outside!
So, what’s on YOUR Love List? Let us know in the comments! And to all the lady-goats out there, thinking about their love-list…let it be known that I, Sustain A. Billy, am very single! Call me!
Up next month: Take a break!
